Would you like to host?
As a friend and supporter of Mukti, would you consider helping us spread the word about this opportunity? One simple way to do this is by hosting a morning or afternoon tea at your church, home or small group gathering.
How a gathering could work
Choose a date well before Christmas—ideally in October or November—and invite people from your church, family, friendship circle or small group to join you for a relaxed morning or afternoon tea. You may like to provide tea, coffee and something simple to share, or invite guests to bring a plate of cakes, sandwiches or other light refreshments.
To support your gathering, we will provide printed copies of the Gifts of Hope Catalogue, along with resources that explain the work of Mukti Australia’s partners in India and Sri Lanka. These may include brochures, the latest Mukti Pulse newsletter and, where available, a short video highlighting the aid and development work made possible through our partners.
What guests can do
Your guests can browse the catalogue and choose one or more gifts for women and children in India or Sri Lanka, who will be blessed by receiving a special Gift of Hope at Christmas.
– Select gifts from the catalogue and make a donation to cover their cost.
– Purchase a gift on behalf of a friend or loved one.
– Request a free card to be sent to the person they have honoured with the gift
This can also be a meaningful activity for grandparents and grandchildren, who may enjoy choosing gifts together to bring joy to a child who may otherwise only dream of receiving a Christmas present.
How donations are handled
We will provide clear information on how to collect and transfer donations to our bank account, as well as how to send us the details needed for any gift cards requested. Alternatively, guests can visit Mukti’s website at mukti.org.au to select and pay for their gifts online.
Ready to get involved?
If you’d like to lend a hand and help us share the Gifts of Hope programme as explained above, or if you have another innovative way of encouraging others to participate, please give us a call at our Melbourne office on 03 9890 0211 or send us an email to admin@mukti.org.au and we can help you make it happen.
