STOP THE BLOCK... $200,000 needed

Can you help us 'Stop the Block'? Our buildings are over 120 years old and the plumbing is so bad that there is a serious risk of outbreak of disease!

• Drinking water lines need replacement
• Sewerage pipes need replacing to stop overflow into the Mukti grounds
• Sewerage pits need replacing with modern pipes to deal with grey water

INDEPENDENT LIVING UNIT PROJECT ...$14,000

Once the girls at Mukti finish school, many will leave to go to college or work. However, they still call Mukti home, and return there during their holidays. Help us to provide an independent living area for these girls to come back to, where they can maintain their independence whilst living as part of the Mukti community.  The building is available for this unit but it needs renovating and furnishing....so we need paint, bunk beds, a couch,  table and chairs and a television and DVD player to make it like home for them.

Mukti provides a loving community to many abandoned, abused, disabled and marginalised women. But the costs involved in supporting these women is causing financial strain for Mukti. Help us to keep Mukti going strong and supporting hundreds of women and children.

COMPLETED PROJECTS

DENTAL CLINIC PROJECT
Dental hygiene is an important part of staying healthy, but accessing this care in India can be difficult and expensive. Help us to establish a dental clinic at Mukti to provide dental care to the Mukti residents and surrounding community. Items needed include a second hand dental chair, xray machine, compressor and instruments. completed!

PAINTING THE FAMILY HOMES PROJECT
The family group homes at Mukti have been around for decades, and are in need of a fresh coat of paint - and we all know how much of a difference that can make to our own homes!  There are 13 homes to paint!  Help us to provide the women and children with a comfortable and well-maintained home. completed!

CHILDREN'S DINING ROOM FURNITURE PROJECT
With so many children at Mukti, the dining hall gets a lot of use - not only for eating, but also as an area for the girls to do their homework and other study. At present the girls sit on the floor.  Help us to better equip this area with furniture to make it more comfortable, hygenic and functional. completed!

MUKTI LIBRARY
Thanks to many generous people here in Australia Mukti now has a library with some wonderful children's books and books for adult readers too. There is still a need for books in the local languages, Marathi and Hindi. If you would like to give the girls and women at Mukti the chance to learn the value of reading and better their education with a variety of books in different languages please donate to this project. completed!

YEAR 11 and 12 at MANORAMA GIRLS JUNIOR COLLEGE - AUD $165,000
Manorama Girls High School at Mukti is expanding! To provide for girls to study Year 11and 12 we need to build and equip another school building. Will you help these girls have an education? completed!

BEDS FOR SUPA - $2,600
Mukti has various homes and day care facilities across India, and after a short termer noticed that the sleeping arangements of some of the children in Mukti's Supa home was not sufficent we began a project to buy comfortable bunk beds for these children. completed!

SOLAR POWER LIGHTING – AUD $800 per light - Total AUD $55,000 completed!
Proper lighting within the Mukti compound grounds is vital for safety and security. A solar powered lighting system will provide this essential resource using an abundant natural resource. Thanks to everyone who donated towards this project. We have now raised enough funds to buy all the lights Mukti needs.

NEHEMIAH WALL PROJECT – AUD $1500 completed!
A fence surrounding the Mukti compound and Retreat Centre, to provide security to our residents and staff as nearby Pune City spreads towards Kedgaon. Additional funds are needed to complete this important project.
